Edvaris Studio service terms

Last updated 19 October 2026

These terms apply when Edvaris Ltd ("we", "us"), trading as Edvaris Studio, designs, builds or looks after a website or app for you. They form part of the agreement between us together with your written quote. If your quote says something different from these terms, the quote applies.

1. Your quote

The prices on our website are starting prices. Before we start, we send you a written quote, signed by us, setting out what we will build, the fixed price, the timeline, the payment dates and the rounds of changes included. The agreement starts when you accept the quote in writing (email is fine) and pay the deposit. Quotes are valid for 30 days.

2. Paying us

For websites, you pay 50% of the price as a deposit to start, and the remaining 50% once you have approved the finished site and before it goes live. For apps, you pay a deposit and then payments at the milestones set out in your quote. Upkeep plans are paid monthly in advance.

No VAT is added: Edvaris Ltd is not VAT registered. Domain names, paid third-party tools and app-store fees are extra at cost and listed in your quote.

We email you an invoice with a secure payment link, either from an @edvaris.co.uk address or through Revolut Business on our behalf. Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date. Payments are processed by Revolut. Payment always goes to Edvaris Ltd. If you get a message asking you to pay anyone else, or to pay into a different account, don't pay it; email admin@edvaris.co.uk to check.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it is paid. For business customers we may also charge interest and costs allowed under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

3. What we need from you

To keep to the timeline in your quote, you agree to send us your text, images, logos and other content, and to reply to questions and review drafts within a reasonable time. If we are waiting on you for more than 30 days, we may move the project to the back of our schedule and agree new dates with you.

You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, everything you send us, and that it is accurate and lawful. You are responsible for the content of your site or app, including claims made about your services.

4. Changes and extra work

Your quote includes a set number of rounds of changes. A round is one list of changes sent together after you review a draft. Changes beyond those rounds, or work outside what the quote describes, will be quoted separately before we do it, and we will only go ahead once you agree.

5. Approval and launch

When the work is ready, we ask you to check it and approve it in writing. Once you approve it and the balance is paid, we put it live. If you do not reply within 14 days of us asking for approval, we will remind you. If you still have not replied or reported a problem 7 days after the reminder, we treat the work as approved.

6. Fixing faults after launch

For 30 days after launch we fix, free of charge, any fault where the site or app does not work as agreed in your quote. This does not cover changes you or someone else make, new features, or problems caused by third-party services outside our control. If you're a consumer, this is in addition to your legal rights, including our duty to carry out the work with reasonable care and skill.

7. Ownership

Once you've paid in full, you own the design, content and code we write just for you, and we hand over the files and accounts. Until then, we keep ownership of the work.

Some parts use our own reusable code or open-source tools; you get a permanent licence to use and change those, and any developer you choose can work on them. Open-source and third-party tools stay under their own licences.

We may show your finished work in our portfolio, but only with your written permission.

8. Third-party costs

Domain names, email mailboxes, paid plugins, app-store accounts and other third-party services are paid by you at cost, either directly or through us as set out in your quote. Their providers' terms apply, and we are not responsible for changes to their prices or service.

9. Upkeep plans

Upkeep plans are for business customers only.

Website Upkeep, from £25 a month, covers hosting, updates and small edits. App Upkeep, from £60 a month, covers hosting, fixes and monitoring. Your quote sets the exact price and how much editing time is included each month. Unused time does not roll over. Either of us can end an Upkeep plan by giving one month's notice in writing.

Without an Upkeep plan, we hand the site or app over to you at launch and you are responsible for hosting and updates. We can help later, with a quote first.

10. Personal data

If your site or app collects personal data, such as contact form messages, bookings or job applications, you are the controller of that data. Where we handle it for you, for example while hosting or maintaining the site or app, we act as your processor. Before we host or maintain anything that holds personal data, we sign a data processing agreement with you, and we only use the data to provide our services, in line with UK data protection law.

11. Cancelling

If you're buying for personal use

If you're buying for personal use, you can cancel within 14 days of the day the agreement starts (see section 1), without giving a reason. We won't start work in that time unless you ask us to by email. If you didn't ask us to start early and you cancel, you pay nothing and we refund everything you've paid. If you asked us to start early and then cancel within the 14 days, you pay a fair share of the price for the work done up to the time you tell us. If we finish all the work within the 14 days at your request, you no longer have the right to cancel; we'll ask you to confirm you understand this before we start.

To cancel, email admin@edvaris.co.uk with your name and the date of your quote, or use the model cancellation form below. We will refund any money owed within 14 days of you telling us, using the same payment method you used. If you're buying as a consumer, this doesn't affect your legal rights.

If you're buying for a business

You can cancel at any time by emailing us. You pay for work done up to that point, and the deposit is used to cover it. If the work done is worth more than the deposit, we invoice the difference; if it is worth less, we refund the difference.

If we need to end the agreement

We may end the agreement if you do not pay an invoice within 30 days of a reminder, or if you ask us to publish anything unlawful. We will pay back any money for work we have not done.

12. Our responsibility to you

We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. If you are a business customer, our total liability to you under each agreement is limited to the total price of that agreement (for Upkeep plans, the fees for the 12 months before the claim), and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your legal rights.

13. Disputes and law

If something goes wrong, please tell us at admin@edvaris.co.uk and we will try to sort it out with you quickly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
