Tell a friend: terms and conditions

These terms apply to the Edvaris Studio Tell a friend scheme (the "scheme"), run by Edvaris Ltd, trading as Edvaris Studio ("we", "us"). By asking for a referral code you agree to them. See how the scheme works on the Tell a friend page.

1. Who can take part

1.1 You must be 18 or over and have a UK bank account in your name or your business's name.

1.2 You can't take part if you work for, or are a director of, Edvaris Ltd.

2. Your code

2.1 Your code is for you. You can share it with people you know, by email, text or in person, in your own words.

2.2 If you share your code where many people can see it, such as social media, you must start the post with "Ad:" and say that you receive a reward if people buy. If you write a review of us, you must say in it that you are in the scheme.

2.3 You must not put your code on voucher, coupon or discount websites, pay for adverts that use our name, send unsolicited messages to people you don't know, or pretend to be us.

2.4 A code stops working if nobody uses it for 2 years. You can leave the scheme at any time by emailing admin@edvaris.co.uk.

3. Qualifying friends

3.1 A "friend" qualifies when they:

• are new to us: not a previous customer, and not someone who asked us for a quote in the 6 months before giving your code;
• give us your code before we send their quote;
• accept their quote and pay for a new website or app.

3.2 You can't use your own code, or use it for a business you own, run or control.

3.3 You can't receive a reward for referring your employer, unless your employer agrees in writing and the reward is paid to the employer. You can't receive a reward for referring a public body you work for, such as a council, school or NHS organisation.

3.4 If you advise your friend's business, for example as their accountant or IT provider, you must tell them that you receive a reward from us.

3.5 If a friend gives us more than one code, only the first one counts. The code can't be used with any other offer.

3.6 We tell your friend that you will receive a reward, and we tell you when your friend has paid and how much your reward is.

4. Your friend's discount

4.1 Your friend gets 10% off the price of the website or app in their quote. The discount doesn't apply to Upkeep plans, work added after the quote, or third-party costs we pass on at cost, such as domain names and app-store fees.

4.2 We price every job the same way whether or not a code is used. The quote shows the normal price, the discount and the price to pay.

5. Your reward

5.1 Your reward is 10% of what your friend pays for the website or app, after their discount and excluding the items in 4.1.

5.2 Once 3 of your friends have paid in full within any 12-month period, your reward is 15% for the third friend and every friend after that, for as long as the scheme runs. If we've already paid you 10% on part of that friend's app, we pay the extra 5% when they've paid in full.

5.3 Launch reward: if your friend accepts their quote by 31 January 2027, your reward for that friend is 15%, and they count towards the 3 friends in 5.2. This offer will not be extended.

5.4 The most you can receive for one friend is £1,500. If you are VAT registered, the reward includes any VAT.

6. Payment

6.1 We pay rewards by bank transfer within 7 days of your friend paying in full. For apps paid in stages, we pay the reward on each payment within 7 days of it. If we are waiting for your bank details, the 7 days start when we receive them.

6.2 If your friend is buying for personal use, we pay after their 14-day cancellation period has ended.

6.3 We only ask for bank details by email from an @edvaris.co.uk address. We never ask on our website or ask your friend.

6.4 If your friend cancels or receives a full refund before we pay you, no reward is due. If they receive a partial refund before we pay you, your reward is reduced in proportion. Once we have paid you, we will not ask for the reward back unless you broke these terms.

7. Tax

7.1 You are responsible for any tax due on rewards you receive.

8. Breaking these terms

8.1 If you break these terms, we may stop your code. We won't pay a reward for any friend that the breach relates to.

9. Changes and ending the scheme

9.1 We may change or end the scheme. We will tell you by email and on our website at least 30 days before. Friends who gave us your code before the change still count under the terms that applied when they did.

10. Your personal data

10.1 We use your details and your friend's details as set out in our privacy policy. We won't contact your friend: they contact us.

11. About us and the law

11.1 The scheme is run by Edvaris Ltd, trading as Edvaris Studio, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17260367), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Questions: admin@edvaris.co.uk.

11.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, they don't affect your legal rights.
